FORT LAUDERDALE, Lehr & Associates announces that one of its clients, an inventor from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has designed a modified car seat that would incorporate added safety features into the design.

The BELLA GUARD is designed to ensure that the child remains seated properly while the vehicle is in motion. The additional safety features could provide parents and guardians with peace of mind. In addition, the BELLA GUARD may be offered in a booster seat variation.
The inventor was inspired to develop the BELLA GUARD based on a personal experience. “A close friend of mine lost his 4-year-old daughter in an accident when the child was ejected from the truck,” he said. “If her car seat had included these additional features, then this tragedy might have been avoided.”
Explanation of Bella Guard:

Bella Guard is a standalone car child safety seat. This seat is designed in a way that it’s portable and can be moved form car to car with ease. Bella Guard is designed to inform the driver of the car when the seat belt from the car seat is removed by sounding a loud audio alarm. This system is not intergraded into the automobile thus be portable.

Bella Guard has a twofold operation. Unlike other car seats, Bella Guard is equipped with a pressure switch activated seat belt alarm system that is activated when a child is present in the car seat and the seat belt buckle of the car seat is clipped together. If for any reason the car seat belt is disconnected while a child is present in the seat the alarm will sound alerting the driver that the belt is no longer secure.

The entire Bella Guard system is integrated into a car seat, this device has several features. Under the cushion of the seat there is a pressure switch that when a child is present it activates the system. On the right side of the car seat there is a speaker that the loud alarm comes from. The restraint system, in the buckle has a sensor that activates when the buckle is connected.
